Do Not Adjust Your TV Set
September 3, 2026
Situation’s Changed, Jules

Well well well, what do we have here? Do not adjust your TV set, do not use the bat phone. Normal service is resuming.
In case you missed my email yesterday, Jared Dillian Money has a new lick of paint. It’s actually more than that—we tore that thing down and rebuilt it from scratch. I am very proud of it.
As part of the demolition, we’ve renamed The Jared Dillian Letter (snooze) to Market Nonsense (non-snooze). This is technically the first issue, but today’s issue is an introduction, so it looks a little different.
The Good News
In many ways, Market Nonsense is a more focused version of the letter you know and love and open every week (right?). Every week, I’ll take something happening in the markets and pull it apart: what the crowd is saying about it, what they’re getting wrong, and what you can learn from it.
So, why the new name? Well, I have seen a lot of dumb things in my career. We are in a perpetual bull market of nonsense. The good thing about that is you can make a lot of money by understanding what’s nonsense and what is not nonsense. There are going to be times in your career as an investor when there is a powerful narrative, and you think it’s nonsense, and it is you against the world, it is you against a literal army of idiots, and these are the times that make or break you as an investor.
Market Nonsense is going to help you think better about markets; and yes, that is not as good of a marketing hook as “Make 100X!” and “Get rich today!” But if I ever go that route, please, immediately, jam the spam button as hard as you can. And then use the bat phone.
Anyway, as I said, Market Nonsense is going to be a more focused version of The Jared Dillian Letter and not a big change from what you know, aside from the facelift. Really. Just Do Your Thing, Marie Kondo Your Portfolio, Angry Bear Cave… I write about market nonsense a lot. Now it just says so on the can.
One more thing: Despite the name, Market Nonsense will not be a weekly rant. As you know, I like to write reasoned, thoughtful pieces. But one thing I can tell you is there is never a shortage of nonsense. And a lot of the time, that’s a good thing! If markets were efficient, it would be a lot harder to make money.
There Will Be Bugs
A ton of work went into the new site. Literally, thousands of hours. But there will be bugs. Nothing surer. So please, do me a big favor and click around the site. If you find anything that isn’t working properly, anything that’s weird—even any typos we missed—please submit them here. I’d really appreciate it.
And if there’s nothing specific but you want to share your feedback and thoughts in general on the new site, please email feedback@jareddillianmoney.com.

Dumbest Thing I Saw This Week
Michael Saylor posted an AI video of himself fighting off bears. I’m tired, boss.

Speed Round
A while back, the team sent me a bunch of questions for the new “About” page. Thought I’d reproduce a few here, along with my answers:
The average investor’s biggest mistake is… overconfidence.
Most financial media is… useful for trading against.
The most dangerous words in investing are… “Give me some of those SAFE index funds.”
Most people don’t need more information, they need… more game theory.
Your biggest guilty pleasure is… sitting on the couch with my cats writing something.
Other Stuff

The Awesome Portfolio book is being released into the wild NEXT WEEK. If you have been dilly-dallying, now is the time to stop dilly-dallying.
Finally, a question for you:
What’s the dumbest thing you see happening in markets right now?
Just reply to this email and let me know. I might even write about it in Market Nonsense.
Thanks for reading, and thanks for all the emails so far about the new website. Keep ’em coming.
