Smart ideas, smarter people

DIRTCON 7

WHAT THE…

Dirtcon 7! Lucky Number Seven. The seventh annual edition of the beloved underground conference that sells out every single year is bursting out of Pawleys Island and rolling up to Nashville this October.

It’s going to be bigger (there’ll be more people, but not too many more people).

It’s going to be better (there’ll be more speakers, but not too many more speakers).

It’s going to be fancier (but not too much fancier).

And we are going to throw a rager of a party.

Truly exceptional people come from all over the country (and the world) to Dirtcon. That’s the real value of Dirtcon —everybody getting smarter about markets and life together.  It really is a gifted and talented camp, of sorts.

After fifteen-odd years of writing Dirtnap, I know exactly who reads it — and it's not the people watching CNBC for stock tips. Dirtcon is what happens when a bunch of you end up in the same room.

It is magic.

WHO THE…

We’ve got a great group of speakers. You’ll hear from them—and more importantly, you’ll run into them. There’s no VIP section or weird speaker vs. attendee divide. Everyone’s in the same conversations.

Peter Boockvar

Peter Boockvar

CIO, One Point BFG Wealth Partners

One of the best investors I know. Creative, out-of-consensus, fundamentally driven, but he also pays attention to technicals. He killed it at Dirtcon 6.

Eric Balchunas

Eric Balchunas

Senior ETF Analyst, Bloomberg

The number one expert on ETFs. From his perch at Bloomberg Intelligence, no one knows more about ETFs than Eric. He’s also written a few great books about ETFs and indexing.

Meb Faber

Meb Faber

Founder & CIO, Cambria Investment Management

The surfer dude of investors, Meb works out of Manhattan Beach, my favorite place in the world, and in between riding waves, he’s got some of the best ideas about value investing I have ever heard. He’s also got some pretty good ETFs, too.

Vincent Daniel

Vincent Daniel

Co-founder, Seawolf Capital

Yep, the Big Short guy. Few people know that I developed a friendship with Vincent and Porter when they were at Frontpoint, a client of Lehman Brothers.

Porter Collins

Porter Collins

Co-founder, Seawolf Capital

Yep, the other Big Short guy. Vincent, Porter and I still trade ideas after all these years.

Tony Greer

Tony Greer

Founder, TG Macro

I’ve known Tony for almost 20 years, and most of you have probably seen our successful Macro Dirt podcast. He brings the yabba dabba doo to trading, but don’t let the folksy demeanor fool you—his trading instincts are impeccable.

Mark Lapolla

Mark Lapolla

Sixth Man Research

A Dirtcon fixture since the first one in 2017. No one will stimulate your thinking about markets, politics, social psychology, and life better than Mark.

Jan Van Eck

Jan Van Eck

CEO, VanEck

The head of what I believe is one of the two best ETF issuers in the world. He founded Van Eck’s ETF business in 2006. Bonus: he’s also a lover of electronic music.

Alex Morris

Alex Morris

Co-founder & CEO, F/m Investments

The head of the other best ETF issuer in the business. Formerly at Rowhouse Capital Partners, Vestmark, and Macquarie Group. One of the wittiest people I know.

Chris Freiman

Chris Freiman

Department Chair, Philosophy, West Virginia University

The number one free-market philosopher in the world. He spoke at Dirtcon 5, and brought down the house. To say that we are kindred spirits in philosophy would be an understatement.

John Burns

John Burns

Performance Coach, The ReThink Group

One of the most interesting people I’ve ever met. He’s a former trader of feeder cattle options, of all things, and now he coaches professional traders and athletes on how to win.

Matt Ziegler

Matt Ziegler

Author, Cultish Creative

Matt got into the finance industry in 2007 after a music career, impressed Ben Hunt with his writing, and now has an excellent podcast. I am wondering when we are going to get a book out of him.

Jared Dillian

Jared Dillian

Founder, Daily Dirtnap, Jared Dillian Money, DJ.

I’m not the best public speaker in the world, so I let the slides do the talking.  Be prepared to drink from a firehose of market information.

Barry Knapp

Barry Knapp

Managing Partner, Ironsides Macro

I used to work with Barry when he was a derivatives salesman at Lehman Brothers. He is now one of the most sought-after speakers on the economy and economic policy. He also likes to ski and play soccer.

Agenda to be announced…

WHERE THE…

For the first time ever, Dirtcon is going on the road to the Virgin Hotel in Nashville. I’ve been to the hotel a few times and it’s perfect for Dirtcon. Oh and of course, Nashville is much easier to get to than Pawleys Island. Plus, better clubs. Yes, there will be a party. Boy will there be a party…

Virgin Hotels Nashville

1 Music Square West

Nashville

Tennessee 37203

Dirtcon attendees get a special rate of $319/night at the hotel, which is more than 100 bucks off the usual rate… And you can extend your stay for the weekend at the discounted rate.

To lock in the Dirtcon rate, right this way.

If you prefer to call the resort, please mention that you’re a guest of "Jared Dillian Money Dirtcon Event Fall 2026".

HOW THE…

Important: You’re getting access to tickets before the general public because you’re a Dirtnap subscriber. But previous Dirtcon attendees got access a couple of weeks ago, and they’ve snapped up about 80% of the tickets already.

Dirtcon always sells out. One year, it sold out in 39 seconds!

And then I have a bunch of people on a waitlist who are sad.

One reason we’re moving to Nashville is that we’re able to bump up the size a bit, so I’m hoping the Sad Waitlist will be smaller. However, we’re not bumping the size up that much, so I wouldn’t wait around.

QUESTIONS

  • Because you’re a certified Dirtnap subscriber™. A lot of the magic of Dirtcon is that the good people really self-select. There are no egos at this thing. Just a really free, open environment where people can share ideas. I’ve been lucky that those are the type of people who read Dirtnap.

  • Some stuff: it’s in a nicer venue, the food will be better, it’s easier to get to, we’re having a party at one of my favorite venues, we’re going to have more speakers, and more attendees.

What’s not changing: an abundance of sessions that are different from the usual conference circuit, a terrific collection of people (speakers and attendees), and a lot of fun.

  • I mean, don’t want to jinx anything but historically, yeah, it sells out pretty quickly. And then we have the Sad Waitlist. You don’t want to be on the Sad Waitlist.

  • If you've been reading the Dirtnap for any length of time, you've probably seen me mention Dirtcon. Maybe you've thought "that sounds like my kind of thing." Well, if your kind of thing is a non-conferency conference with smart people and a hell of a party, then it is your kind of thing.

Every single person at Dirtcon was a first-timer once. Including the regulars who now fly in every year. The whole thing is deliberately small and deliberately ego-free. You'll be talking to speakers at lunch. You'll be swapping ideas with people you just met like you've known them for years. You’ll have a blast.

  • Yep. We’re increasing the number of places available, but not by a whole lot. As is always the case at Dirtcon, it’ll be pretty easy to chat to the speakers.

  • Nope.

  • BNA – Nashville International Airport. It’s about a 10-minute drive from BNA to the hotel.

  • Yup.

If you’d like to extend your stay at the hotel, start by booking your room using the link provided. Once that’s done, email dirtcon@jareddillianmoney.com with your confirmation number and the additional dates you’d like to add. Our team will take it from there and help secure the conference rate for those extra nights.

  • We’ll be starting relatively early on October 15, so best to arrive on October 14. We’ll be wrapping up around 4 p.m. on Friday, October 16.

  • Cancellations received on or before August 15 are eligible for a refund, less a $250 cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after August 15. To cancel, please email support@jareddillianmoney.com or call 855-322-9200, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Arizona Time).

  • Sure, why not. Just let us know at support@jareddillianmoney.com.

  • You must wear clothes. Dirtnap caps/tees allowed of course.

  • We’re at a rare inflection point: mega-caps make up over 30% of the S&P, the most skewed since the dot-com peak. That gap creates an extraordinary opportunity to own durable, undervalued businesses with room to run.

  • Jared is hands-on in every issue. Think of him as the coach in the press box: Adam calls the plays and Jared makes sure each pick fits the macro and technical side before each issue is released.

  • Adam has been Jared’s senior equity analyst for the past eight years. Because of Adam’s deep fundamental analysis skills and his bias toward finding bargain, cash-rich businesses, Jared has asked him to take more credit for his work and lead this new, important research service, Heartland Investor. Over the past decade, Adam’s built a reputation for finding wide-moat, cash-generating companies you can hold without second-guessing.

  • Absolutely. In every issue, Adam guides you step-by-step through the moat-driven, valuation-first framework he’s refined for Jared over the past decade. Even if you’re just building your portfolio, you’ll learn a repeatable system for identifying durable, undervalued, long-forgotten companies that still have room to run.

  • Nope. Heartland Investor is designed for mid- to long-term investors focused on undervalued, long-forgotten opportunities with valuations that have room to move and uninterruptible moats.

  • Not at all. All 100-point moat grades and timeline charts are fully integrated into each issue—no downloads, no plug-ins or downloads needed.

  • Yes. Every ticker we cover is liquid, U.S.-listed, and available on major brokerages, just like any other stock you trade.

  • Yes. Every pick comes with a buy-up-to price, an upside target, a suggested weighting, and follow-up cues when it’s time to trim or exit.

  • You’ll receive one in-depth issue on the last Wednesday of each month, plus brief portfolio news and updates bi-weekly.

  • Everything’s right there in our online subscriber portal (mobile- and tablet-friendly). Missed an edition? It’s always waiting in the archives.

  • Just let us know within your first 90 days, and we’ll refund 100% of your subscription, no questions asked.

  • No problem. Email us anytime at support@jareddillianmoney.com.
